Professor Dongyuan Zhao is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS). Currently, he serves as the Dean and "HaoQing" Professor of School of Chemistry and Materials Science at Fudan University. He also holds positions as Executive Editor for ACS Central Science, Deputy Editor for National Science Review, President of the International Mesoporous Materials Association (IMMA), Council Member of the International Zeolite Association (IZA), Chief Scientist for the National Natural Science Foundation's Center for Functional Mesoporous Materials, Director of Wusong Laboratory of Materials Science (Shanghai), and the first Dean of Xianghui Institute of Fudan University.
Professor Dongyuan Zhao has been dedicated to investigation of functional mesoporous materials for more than 20 years. He has proposed a series of innovative strategies for synthesizing functional mesoporous materials, thereby advancing their utilization in areas such as petroleum catalysis, fine chemical industries, and energy conversion and storage. His research in the synthesis and application of functional mesoporous materials has yielded systematic, groundbreaking results. He has published more than 800 highquality peer-reviewed papers with over 140,000 citations, achieving an impressive H-index of 190. Internationally recognized as a leading figure in the field of mesoporous materials, his achievements have been widely adopted by numerous scientific research institutions across various countries and regions.
Professor Dongyuan Zhao has been honored with numerous domestic and international prestigious awards, including the First Prize (2020) and Second Prize (2004) of National Natural Science Award of China, First Prize of Sinopec Prospective Fundamental Science Award (2021), The Outstanding Contribution Award for Chemistry from Chinese Chemical Society (2018), Achievement Award from China Zeolite Association (2017), First Prize for Excellent Research Achievements in Universities awarded by Ministry of Education (2017), TWASLenovo Science Award (2016), Khwarizmi International Award (2019), Nano Research Award (2020) as well as National Innovation Pioneer Medal (2023), National Distinguished Professional Technical Talents Award(2021), Meritorious Talents of Shanghai Science & Technology Award (2022), and Touching Shanghai Annual People (2023).
