Dr. Henry C. Lee, as one of the foundational figures in modern forensic science, has proposed numerous pioneering theories and methods in the field, and is known as the modern-day Sherlock Holmes. He is currently the chief emeritus for the Connecticut Division of Scientific Services and professor emeritus at University of New Haven. Dr. Lee has collaborated with several law enforcement agencies around the world, participating in over 8000 cases across 46 countries, and has testified in court over a thousand times, including world-famous cases such as the assassination of John F. Kennedy, the wood chipper murder, the O.J. Simpson murder, the kidnapping of Elizabeth Smart, and the Bill Clinton scandal.

The Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science was established in 2006 by University of New Haven, named in his honor. It has now become the nation’s leading crime scene investigator training center as well as the cold case center, being in charge of the unsolved complex cases in the United States.
Dr. Lee has gained international recognition for his tremendous contributions and has received over 800 awards and honors, including the John A. Dondero Memorial Award--the highest honor an IAI member can receive, the Criminalistics Award from the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, the Raymond J. Welsh Memorial Award from the International Association for Identification, the Medal of Justice from the National Institute of Justice, the World Chinese Outstanding Achievement Award and the Friendship Award from the Chinese government, etc.
Academic-wise, Dr. Lee is the author/Co-Author of 30 books and 400 publications, including Cracking Cases, The Science of Solving Crimes, Famous Crimes Revisited, Henry Lee's Crime Scene Handbook, Advances in Fingerprint Technology, Crime Scene Investigation, Criminal Investigation and Forensic DNA. He is also the editor for 5 scientific publications. His work is now one of the most valuable references in the field of forensic sciences internationally.
